LEADERSHIP SPOTLIGHT | EMILY ROMERO

Meet Emily Romero, Idaho Regional Director. Emily became a part of WtoWN, helping build up membership in Canyon County in 2023. To say this woman is sunshine in human form is an understatement - Emily’s positivity and warmth inspire her team and the members of the Idaho Region every time they see her. Read more about Emily and what she loves about WtoWN.

Tell us: why did you join WtoWN?

I was drawn to WtoWN because a friend and prior colleague was posting on social media about how empowered she felt being a part of the origination. She invited me to attend a Coffee + Connect and I was hooked. I felt inspired and empowered after my first meeting and I knew I needed WtoWN in my life! I never would have had the strength to put me and my family before my corporate job; however, I felt the support and empowerment I needed to do just that!

What have you gained so far from your role in Leadership?

Connect After Hours - Boise Metro - August 2024

Being in a leadership role with WtoWN has provided me with the opportunity to connect with so many strong amazing women/organizations throughout Idaho, Oregon, and Washington; allowing me to grow in so many ways. Attending monthly leadership meetings and brainstorm sessions has really filled my intellectual cup and I always walk away feeling inspired and empowered.

What is your favorite thing, so far, about Women to Women Network?

My favorite interaction was at SPARK when Megan Bendtzen had the audience write a positive encouraging letter and then put the letter in a basket. The letters were collected and then distributed to each woman in the audience. It was as if the letter I received was meant for me. It really touched my heart and filled my cup. I also was really touched when Julie Waters spoke and talked about her life journey and WtoWN. I realized how much we have in common and why she is such an amazing leader.

What has being in leadership taught you?

Being around other like-minded driven women leaders in our community has really helped me grow personally and professionally. It gave me the strength to take charge of my personal life and leave a 14-year successful corporate career to take care of myself and my family.

What is your favorite WtoWN event?

Coffee + Connect is my favorite monthly event - getting to have heartfelt and thoughtful conversations with our members inspires me and motivates me every time.

What are you looking forward to most?

Mentorship and Growth! I want to pass along the knowledge I have gained through my professional experience in a way that is impactful and helps other women grow in their careers. I cannot wait to see how far we go in 2025! Also, I'm so excited to be attending INSPIRE with 2 of my daughters! I love any opportunity to spend meaningful time with them and I'm looking forward to this EPIC event!
