We sat down with Women to Women Network member Karla Erovick of KE Media, and here's what she had to say…

Who are your clients/customers?

My customers are primarily women-owned businesses and wineries, but I work with a wide array of companies. I especially enjoy working with heart-centered businesses that give back in some way, either through their products or services or the way they're doing it.

How do you help your clients/customers?

I help my clients find their authentic voice to reach their ideal audience through social media messaging and more.

What brought you to this line of work?

Creating my business has been like a treasure hunt, and I found this path very serendipitously. I had been laid off for the fourth or fifth time in the industry I was in. I realized it was never meant for me, so I branched out on my own doing marketing.

At first, I did a lot of writing because that's my background. I realized my favorite part of writing was helping business owners connect to their message and discover their unique abilities. It's a pleasure to communicate my clients' passions in a way that resonates with their ideal audience. That's opened up many opportunities for me to find avenues I enjoy and am skilled in. Social media is something that I got involved in as a travel writer, never imagining that one day, it would become an integral part of my business. I continue to add services to my list, and I'm incredibly passionate about training my clients.

What brings you joy?

When something about social media has felt overwhelming for my client, and I can give them the tools and the training they need to see what's possible with little energy and time investment, it brings me joy. Helping people connect with their message and seeing that come through across their marketing and social media is one of my work's greatest pleasures.

What defines you and your business?

One of the points I've been focusing on is encouraging introverts to authentically and comfortably express themselves through their business marketing. As an introvert myself, that's really on my heart right now. I've learned to put myself out there and to be visible, which has not been easy, but I've learned to do it in a way that feels safe and true to me. I realize that other people need that, so I'm exploring avenues to offer that to my audience.

What's the most important thing you want people to know about you and your business?

I want to empower and equip people to let social media work for them, which comes down to having a plan. It's easy to look across the social media and marketing landscape and become paralyzed by all the noise that's out there. You don't have to do it the way everyone else is doing it. Being vulnerable and allowing posts to come from the heart is an excellent way to become a positive role model. We need more of that. That's what drives me every day.
