Whitney Zeigler

We sat down with Women to Women Network member Whitney Zeigler of Big Rocks Organizing LLC, and here's what she had to say…

Who are your clients/customers?

We have three different groups of clients. First, we have people who identify as having ADD or neurodiversity looking for help with organizing or setting up systems in their homes. The next group is people who are unpacking or need help settling into their homes. They may be busy professionals who don't have time or energy after a big move. The last group is estate clearouts. When someone has passed away, we compassionately work with the family or estate representative to clear the home and prepare it for sale.

How do you help your clients/customers?

Our team helps to relieve a sense of overwhelm and alleviate the burden of stress. For example, we had one family that worked for two years to clean out a loved one's home. By the time they reached out to us, they felt exhausted, their relationships were strained, and resentment was building. We finished what had taken them over two years to do in two weeks. They said we were worth every penny and were so grateful for our help. We also do a lot of "rightsizing" instead of downsizing.

What brought you to this line of work?

Before this, I was a paralegal in business and real estate law, and before that, I was a victim advocate for 15 years. I had a health crisis that brought me here. I got tendonitis in both of my wrists, and I couldn't be on a keyboard every day anymore. I was in a lot of pain when my doctor told me I needed to change careers. It made me panic. I didn't want to return to school as I had just paid off my master's degree.

I feel lucky I landed on organizing. I went to a local meeting in Lake Oswego of the Oregon Chapter of NAPO (National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals). Everyone was so warm and friendly that I immediately knew I had found my people. It was a job where I could build on my natural strengths and make a difference. Now I work with my own fun team.

What brings you joy?

Being able to help people through a difficult time in their lives. My clients are usually going through a significant life transition—divorce, moving, losing a loved one, or a significant job change. Supporting them in navigating that transition to get to the other side is an honor.

What defines you and your business?

Being of service to others. The core values of our team are respect, compassion, professionalism, and no judgment.

What's the most important thing you want people to know about you and your business?

We will be gentle and meet you where you're at. We're all about acceptance and building off of people's strengths. It’s not uncommon for folks to follow us on social media and our newsletter for years before building the courage to reach out. We want our clients to know that there is no shame involved. We even offer a free 30-minute call so that you can build trust in us. Please don't hesitate to reach out.
